Cardi B was born Belcalis Almanzar on the 11th October 1992 and is a well known US rapper, songwriter and tv personality. Born and raised in New York, she started building her popularity through social media, as well as appearing for two years on a reality series called Love & Hip Hop: New York. It was during this television show that she ended up releasing two mixtapes and ended up signing for Atlantic Records in 2017.

Her debut album, entitled Invasion of Privacy, was released in 2018 and went straight to the top spot on the Billboard 200, breaking various records, as well as receiving critical acclaim. She consequently won a Grammy Award and two of the singles on that album reached number one. She has followed this up with other hit singles, leading her to be one of only six female artists to have three number-one singles on the Hot 100 during the 2010s.
